Nodular acne, is also known as nodulocystic acne and some people also call it Cystic Acne. One name or the other the bottom line is that it is one of the advanced stages of acne vulgaris. The Formation of Nodular Acne

My advice is to be patient since it might take a lot longer than usual to treat nodules, so don’t be dissapointed if you don’t see results immediately. On the other hand, eventhough medicine works fine in many cases, don’t be surprised if you need to help the drugs with other treatments.

Doctors say taht the most common remedy for moderate nodular acne is  benzoyl peroxide. When it comes to more severe cases, the MDs recommend Isotretinoin. Nevertheless, please be adviced that these have to be prescribed and may have collateral effects. For example, it should not be taken when in pregnancy and it should also be avoided if you get depressed quickly. Other doctors also use intralesional corticosteroid therapy. This therapy is used to inject the drug directly into each cyst or nodule to eliminate it.
